This webinar on IP rights and Women-owned textile-based business was co-organized with OWIT Brussels and Legamart. Moderated by Dr Susan Isiko Strba of ILaED.org and Jennifer Mariconi of OWIT Brussels, the webinar brought together participants from all over the world. The participants requested for more sessions of the kind. Dr Isiko Strba interviewed Ms Daphne Zografos Johnsson, Senior Legal Officer in the Traditional Knowledge Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), explained how the work of the Division relates to and helps Women-owned textile businesses. Ms Sanaz Javadi Farahzadi of Legamart explained in detail the relationship between intellectual property and women in textiles.

ILaED.org organized World Intellectual Property Day 2023 (WIPD2023) in Uganda in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) and with the collaboration of Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and SCECK Consult. The workshop was a huge success with over 76 participants who enjoyed listening to and learning from 12 speakers under the theme "Celebrating World Intellectual Property Day 2023 in Uganda: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity for Women Entrepreneurs." They requested for several follow up activities. Delivering them will be part of our occupation in the coming months. You are invited to add your expertise or simply join the recipients.
